Ethnography and Paradox

Ethnography has the potential to uncover how paradox unfolds in everyday practices and can thus shed light on new relationships within paradoxes and uncover individual and organizational approaches to manage these paradoxes. Through the immersion and embeddedness of the researcher in the organizational context, ethnography enables researchers to pay attention to what is potentially silenced and marginalized. Finally, ethnographic studies can produce actionable findings by understanding and providing insights on how to enhance practices.

This virtual workshop strives to highlight opportunities and limitations of ethnography for scholarly works on paradoxes. To meet this goal, we will first have an expert panel discussion, followed by short presentations and feedback on selected extended abstracts. We especially encourage PhD students and junior scholars to join.
