Conference Presentation: "A Paradox Approach to Navigating the Tensions of Ethnographic Research"

06/23/2022

"The POS Research Conference is an opportunity to share and advance empirical and theoretical research in the field of Positive Organizational Scholarship. This biennial gathering of scholars promotes research that inspires and enables leaders to build high-performing organizations that bring out the best in people."

At the POS Research Conference 2022, I had the opportunity to present a paper Angela Greco and I are currently working on proposing "A Paradox Approach to Navigating the Tensions of Ethnographic Research".

Motivated by the tensions we experienced while studying paradoxes as ethnographers during our doctoral work, we draw from the narratives and work shared by organizational ethnographers during two panel discussions for the paradox both and community (Leveraging Tensions, 2020). By building on the scholarly work on paradox theory, we draw from our experiences conducting ethnography and from the narratives of other organizational ethnographers and offer insights into what we call "paradoxes of ethnography".

Please reach out if you would like to hear more about this research project!
